As the world views art...Art is in the eyes of the beholder, not the artist. Only when your work is accepted by others, by purchase or good report would you be considered an artist.
I have spent 40 years creating images that pleased, thrilled or excited others. Now in my retirement years I have been more concerned that my work thrilled or excited myself.
The “Time and Eternity” project was started because of the way the Temples make me feel.
I think of temples as Houses of God, and upon leaving a temple one evening and looking up into the star filled sky I felt closer to Heaven than ever before. Closer to loved ones lost and closer to individuals who’s work had just been completed by proxy.
I began creating images that others might have a sense of the importance of these amazing buildings. That someone else might feel closer to God in His Heaven or feel a tug to serve others who could not serve themselves.
I hope that one of these images might encourage you to attend, to serve, to think about the things that really matter.
My project has enlarged in scope and is spreading as we try to attend and photograph them all. I hope I see you there sometime.
